Ms. Klaphake has practiced family law in St. Cloud since 1995. She practices exclusively in family law litigation and mediation, including divorce (dissolution), involving custody, child support, maintenance (alimony), tax matters, complex business valuations and settlements, step-parent adoptions, and appeals. She is a Minnesota Supreme Court qualified mediator and arbitrator, and a Minnesota Court of Appeals family law appellate mediator. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Ms. Klaphake holds a juris doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota, with honors.
She is the author of ‘Visitation Expeditors: The Law and Pragmatism”, “Standards of Appellate Review”, and “Nonmarital Property Accretions Characterized as Marital Property” published by the Family Law Forum and has been a continuing legal education presentor including one entitled “What Do You Mean My Sister-in-Law is Now My Partner?”
A member of the American, Minnesota, and Stearns-Benton Bar Association, Ms. Klaphake participates in alternative dispute and family law sections. She is a past-president of the Stearns-Benton Bar Association and a past three-year chair of the Stearns-Benton family law section.
